“POMERALIA EXPRESS” OR HOW TO KNOW WHETHER YOUR DOG IS A “POMERANIAN IMITATION” OR NOT

In the pedigree dog world, and very especially in the case of Pomeranians, because it is a very desirable and expensive breed, there is a lot of trickery by people selling dogs that are not Pomeranian, or crossbreedings in which only one of the two parents is Pomeranian, thus taking advantage of the naïveté and money of their buyers.

Since the beginning of Pompomdog’s blog, one of the questions you have ask us the most through our Facebook and our Instagram has been, without a doubt, is if the dog you want to buy or that has just arrived at your home is a purebred Pomeranian or a “Pomeranian toy”, sending us photos of them so that we can confirm it. Today we continue with the book “Happy walk!” (¡Feliz Paseo! in Spanish) by Mónica Valdepeñas, better known in social networks as “Felicidad Canina”. (more…)

ECO-KIT TO WALK WITH YOUR DOG

Since this year on September 21th, 2019, “Peace Day” was dedicated to “Climate Action for Peace”. Two days later, the “Climate Action Summit” of the UN took place. and, above all, in the wake of the “World Climate Strike” on 27-S, the news about the disastrous effects that climate change will have on our lives and our planet does not stop happening.

We would not want this fight to be a fad, and I am sure that if Colette could make her own decisions as a consumer, she would want to do her bit. That is why, in this new publication of PomPomDog we show you what are the products that are part of what we have called “eco-kit”: sustainable products for the environment to walk with your dog. “ONCE UPON A POM”

SEPARATION ANXIETY IN POMERANIAN DOGS (I) – TIPS

Because of its small size, because of our way of treating them/pampering them, Pomeranians have a tendency to suffer separation anxiety, which causes them a state of anguish, stress and depression, moments before their human leaves and while they remain alone at home.

If your dog suffers it, these reactions will not be unknown for you, but just in case we indicate that this anxiety is manifested in behavioral problems such as: (more…)

DOG EXPEDITION

A year ago at this time, Colette and I did our first in-person canine education course with Patricia Guerrero, better known as PAT educadora canina, and we talked about it as a totally advisable experience in the post we wrote in PomPomDog and that you can remember by clicking here. A few days ago, we met again PAT to participate in the dog expedition that she organized. What did this expedition consist of?  (more…)

SALMON OIL FOR POMERANIAN DOGS

EXPLANATORY NOTE! As previously indicated, this kind of PomPomDog posts regarding health and nutrition, are written after having consulted several specialized texts and having read different opinions. However, in case of any doubt or problem, ALWAYS ask your veterinarian or animal nutritionist.

However, this time for this post, we have been lucky to once again have the supervision of the veterinary nutrition and dietetics’ expert, Mónica González Tovar, who was already with us in the publication about ‘How can I improve my Pomeranian’s diet’, that if you missed it, you can read it again by clicking here.

In today’s post we will talk about a new food supplement that we have recently incorporated in Colette’s diet: salmon oil. (more…)
