PREVENTION KIT AGAINST CANIN LEISHMANIASIS

Recently we went to the vet with our Pomeranian Colette for her annual vaccines (heptavalent, anti-rabies and kennel cough), and as we already are in spring in Spain we also bought all the necessary medicines to prevent Colette from catching leishmaniasis. (more…)

DOGS’ SHOWS

The 36th National Dog Show and the 33rd International Dog Show were held this year in February the 27th and 28th in Valladolid, Spain. Generally, in theses exhibitions the best specimens of each breed are judged depending on a number of criteria (morphology-beauty, obedience, etc.), which are established in the dogs societies and federations’ regulations. POMERANIAN SHEDDING (II) – CARE

In the previous post, we started to talk about shedding, the natural and healthy stage that our Pomeranians go through and their types (from puppy to adult, seasonal annual shedding and female shedding). If you missed this publication, you can read it again by clicking here.

Going on with this topic, today we’ll talk about what care you should provide to your doggy during the shedding, not only to make it look as beautiful as possible, but above all to make it feel good and avoid problems in the future with knots, mats and forced haircuts.

HARNESS OR COLLAR IN POMERANIANS?

One of the first issues that arise when we have our puppy ready for a walk for the first time, after having vaccinated it, is whether using a harness or a collar.

This is a very personal matter that, as always, will depend on you, the owners, and above all, on how your dogs feel more comfortable.

After taking into account all the harness and collar pros and cons, we’ve come to the conclusion that we prefer to use a harness for Colette, especially for health and safety reasons. (more…)
