A FEMALE POMERANIAN IN HEAT IS NOT A TRIFLE

EXPLANATORY NOTE! This kind of posts regarding health and nutrition, which you will find in Pom Pom Dog, are written after having consulted several specialized texts and read different opinions. That is the reason why in case of doubt or problem, ask ALWAYS your veterinarian.

… and suddenly, one day Colette stopped eating, or she hid her food, or even she played with it without eating it. We thought that she was ‘dog-tired’ of eating always the same (Colette feeds mainly on fodder – we will talk about it another day), or even that Colette could have dental problems.

And because of a lack of experience: Colette is our first dog, and the only dog in the family. We were worried so we carried Colette to the veterinarian and when he asked us when she had been in heat for the last time and we answered him that two weeks ago, he said to us without any doubt that Colette had (fortunately!) “just a trifle” or scientifically said “pseudopregnancy”.

Lots of owners, among we include ourselves, don’t know or don’t pay special attention to their dog in heat. The truth is that it’s a very important moment in their life because it concerns not only her health, but also her mood. And this is the main reason why we have decided to publish this post in order to understand her behaviour. (more…)

POMPOMDOG TRAVELS TO PARIS, FRANCE

EXPLANATORY NOTE! PomPomDog does research and discover new establishments and products always thinking on Colette and her Pomeranian friends’ welfare. Today’s post is not a direct advertising one, we don’t receive any remuneration for writing about the “Animal Welfare Centre”: neither Colette is paid for it in cash and nor we’re paid in fodder 😉

PomPomDog had the chance to travel to Paris. However, Colette couldn’t come with us this time, but she stayed at home answering your comments : )

We visited the “Animal Welfare Centre”, a place where you can quietly entrust your four legs mate, whether you live or you’re spending your holidays in Paris, one of the first touristic destinations in the world.

COLETTE’S BAGS

After the previous post regarding Colette’s introduction and the comments received, in which you introduce yourselves and you introduce your dogs, comments, which we really appreciate, we still want to know you and to make ourselves known; that’s why we talk about Colette’s bag, or rather, Colette’s bags.

An Australian journalist called Katrhyn Eisman said some time ago: “Forget looking into a woman’s eyes; if you want to know her secrets, look inside her handbag”[1]. We do really agree with that opinion, since a bag can be an important revealing element about the owner’s personality, or as we’ll see in this post, about the owners’ and dogs’ personality and life. WHAT IS POMPOMDOG?

Dreams only exist to make them come true! Welcome to our dream,

Welcome to our blog PomPomDog!

  • CONTENTS:

You’ll find information in PomPomDog about all that happens in the daily life of these fluffy balls, the Pomeranian dogs: their cares, feeding, games and activities, curiosities, doubts and concerns…which come out from the hand, or rather, from the paw of our little lady dog Colette.

  • OBJECTIVE:

Pompomdog is born in response to:

–   Little information we have found about Pomeranian dogs, unlike the other breeds of dogs. We’ve relied on the inestimable help and advice from our breeder, from our veterinary and our hairstylist until now, but we want to continue learning.

–  The social networks’ limits to get to know our followers and the people we follow. Comments on photos or the messages on the social networks are not enough and not the useful tool in order to exchange experiences or advice.

–  We want to get to know the worldwide Pomeranian community and exchange experiences. Difficult? Sure! But not impossible!
