One of the best ideas to feed and to hydrate our best friend in the summer heat while he’s having fun is giving him an ice-cream.
There are lots of video tutorials on the Internet to do homemade ice-creams, but this time wanted Colette to taste a processed ice-cream but with a homemade preparation, which contains a 120 grammes tub and a bag with powdered yoghurt and lyophilized fruit (this time, banana).
The final amount obtained is too much for our little Pomeranians, so you can give him 1/3 of the ice-cream at the most….and the rest is for you! : )
Are bananas good for Pomeranians? Yes, and in fact, it’s a very nutritious fruit for them but as always, you have to give it to him moderately and occasionally. Having into account Pomeranians’ little size, ¼ of a banana is the suitable amount to make a healthy snack or treat.
Attention! However, banana chips are not advisable at all, since they include added preservatives.
But as we always say in PomPomDog, ask your vet.
The preparation of this yoghurt is very simple:
Pour in a bowl 120 grammes of water (if you prefer to make a light ice-cream with less calories) or 120 grammes of natural yoghurt without added sugar (room temperature).
Add the powdered yoghurt and lyophilized fruit.
Mix until the powders are totally dissolved and free of lumps.
Put the mixture in the ice-cream tub and then put into the freezer the needed time until it totally freezes.
You can decorate it with little bananas’ bits (though it’s more than likely that your Pom won’t show gratitude for your esthetic effort. He will find it mouth-watering decorated or not ; )
Another idea is to put the mixture in a cube ice tray or in a plastic bag to make ice and give him an ice as if it were for example a treat when your dog is hot after a walk.
Do you make ice-cream for your dog? Which is his favourite recipe?
