A year ago at this time, Colette and I did our first in-person canine education course with Patricia Guerrero, better known as PAT educadora canina, and we talked about it as a totally advisable experience in the post we wrote in PomPomDog and that you can remember by clicking here. A few days ago, we met again PAT to participate in the dog expedition that she organized. What did this expedition consist of?
For a year we can say that PAT “has made Spain”, because through what she has called “South Expedition” and “North Expedition”, she has traveled 20 Spanish cities teaching the course “My Dog” , which is what I did with Colette. PAT took Madrid as starting point for these courses and now, also as final point, since it is precisely in Madrid where PAT says goodbye to this expedition through Spain, and begins a new adventure for which, we wish her all the best.
In this expedition we made a country trip through the Guadarrama range, we ate a delicious human and dog brunch, dessert included with Sira from “Las tartas de Sira”, we practiced exercises and games with our dogs, we had surprises and gifts and, above all, we had the opportunity to ask PAT directly all our dog’s doubts.
And, of course, we share the morning with other dogs, known as Jazz, or strangers such as Bowie, Carlota, Chapa, Fox, Gómez, Indi, Kaly, Luca, Leia, Max, Pati, Regaliz, Rua and Troy and their friendly owners. And the famous Bongo, the PAT’s dog who we finally met. We miss friends like Mia or Lacollieflor, that we had met in the course. Thanks to PAT, we were lucky to be accompanied by other professionals from the doggy world, such as the dog educator Ana, Olga from “Caminadogs” and Myriam from the pet toy store “Family dog”. A luxury! ^_^
Colette was the object of admiration for the rest of the pack as she behaved like a champion because she walked at her pace, slowly but surely, more than 10 kilometers that this route was, without any complaint, or “asking for arms”. Not to be said that small dogs, like Pomeranians, cannot do the same as big dogs. What’s more, they are not aware of their mini-size, and we should not limit them to a healthy activity such as a nature route.
And you, do you usually do country routes with your dogs?
If you want to recommend us a route in the comments of this post, we will be delighted. Thank you!
